More tactics for dealing with The Winterminator, Director's Cut, Part IX.

1. Strawberry-scented conditioner. I believe this is a universally-guaranteed mood booster for any female of the species, even those of us who think we're too mature, earthy, or NPRish for such things.

2. If your back gets itchy and dry, use a kitchen spatula to put lotion on the hard-to-reach parts. You're welcome.

3. This one's obvious: Girl Scout Cookies.

Also, I'm thinking of taking up a hobby that will remove me from the space-time continuum, like, I don't know, shooting heroin or watching all seven seasons of Gilmore Girls.

Hee-hee.

Whew.

I needed that. Thank you.

Glad I could help.

I haven't yet decided whether I'm kidding about the Gilmore Girls part. It's exactly the sort of thing that librarians take up. We also read Entertainment Weekly. We only occasionally read books to keep the rest of you fooled.

My flatmate watched the Entire Seven Seasons of Gilmore Girls. Twice. She's still in the continuum. Slightly depressed. Has moved on to Startreck, is already up to Deep Space Nine. There is much pizza involved, too. Did I mention that winter is still a few months away here?

Unsurprisingly, I am moving out in about a week.

Your flatmate seems to have reached positively American levels of television consumption. Good luck with that move.

I have one housemate who watches only the SciFi channel and horror movies (which we call the Dismemberment Channel). The television is in the same room as the pellet stove, which is as loud as the Death Star's reactor core, ergo he turns the television up full blast.

My other housemate watches only the Arts Channel, in between practicing violin riffs. Either that or he plays old Aretha Franklin LPs on his record player.

Guess which one I get along with.
